Beaches

Delray Beach Municipal Beach

Our beach is our number one asset, blessed with 1-1/4 miles of oceanfront beach and 1.2 million visitors annually.

Lifeguards are on duty from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m., 365 days per year.  The lifeguard staff is continuously training to maintain and develop their ocean rescue and basic life support skills.

To allow our physically challenged residents to enjoy the beach fully the City maintains an elevated covered pavilion as well as a wooden walkway and observation platform that extends out onto the beach.  The observation platform provides a view of both the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

Atlantic Dunes Park is a separate 500 foot beach located near Linton Blvd. with parking, picnic tables, a nature trail, an accessible pavilion and rest rooms available to the public.

Delray Municipal Beach spans one-and-one-half miles of South Florida coastline.  Delray Municipal Beach is one of the most accessible (easily reached from I-95, the beach is centered at the East End of Atlantic Avenue) and beautiful beaches in South Florida.  The City maintains a handicap accessible elevated covered pavilion as well as a wooden walkway and observation platform that extends out onto the beach.  The observation platform provides a view of both the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.  The City also has two "Beach Chairs" that allow physically challenged visitors the opportunity to go out onto the sand.
